Please provide "rpm -qa | grep mate" output (without quotes) and also content of "/etc/sound/profiles/current/mate/bin"
Mate was installed by installing task-mate. Here is the output: rpm -qa|grep -i mate libmatekbd-1.8.0-4.mga5 mate-screenshot-1.8.1-2.mga5 mate-desktop-schemas-1.8.1-4.mga5 mate-system-monitor-1.8.0-4.mga5 mate-applets-1.8.1-2.mga5 lib64mate-desktop2_17-1.8.1-4.mga5 mate-backgrounds-1.8.0-3.mga5 mate-panel-1.8.1-3.mga5 task-mate-minimal-1.8.0-4.mga5 mate-system-log-1.8.1-2.mga5 mate-utils-1.8.1-2.mga5 mate-desktop-1.8.1-4.mga5 mate-sensors-applet-1.8.0-4.mga5 mate-dialogs-1.8.0-3.mga5 mate-control-center-1.8.3-3.mga5 lib64mateweather1-1.8.0-5.mga5 mate-dictionary-1.8.1-2.mga5 libmateweather-1.8.0-5.mga5 python-mate-menus-1.8.0-5.mga5 mate-power-manager-1.8.1-2.mga5 mate-settings-daemon-gstreamer-1.8.2-2.mga5 mate-media-1.8.0-4.mga5 mate-themes-1.9.1-1.mga5 lib64mate-panel-applet-gir4.0-1.8.1-3.mga5 mate-calc-1.8.0-3.mga5 mate-polkit-1.8.0-6.mga5 lib64mate-menu2-1.8.0-5.mga5 mate-icon-theme-1.8.0-3.mga5 mate-settings-daemon-1.8.2-2.mga5 mate-media-gstreamer-1.8.0-4.mga5 mate-faenza-icon-theme-1.8.0-3.mga5 lib64matekbd4-1.8.0-4.mga5 lib64mate-window-settings1-1.8.3-3.mga5 mate-faenza-icon-theme-dark-1.8.0-3.mga5 mate-session-manager-1.8.1-7.mga5 mate-notification-daemon-1.8.1-2.mga5 task-mate-1.8.0-4.mga5 lib64mate-polkit1_0-1.8.0-6.mga5 lib64matedict1.0_6-1.8.1-2.mga5 mate-terminal-1.8.1-2.mga5 mate-netspeed-applet-1.8.0-4.mga5 mate-utils-common-1.8.1-2.mga5 mate-disk-usage-analyzer-1.8.1-2.mga5 mate-screensaver-1.8.1-2.mga5 mate-faenza-icon-theme-gray-1.8.0-3.mga5 mate-search-tool-1.8.1-2.mga5 mate-menus-1.8.0-5.mga5 Directory /etc/sound/profiles/current/mate/bin does not exist. ls /etc/sound/profiles/current/ alsa-default.conf@ canberra.conf profile.conf pulse
As a workaround, I switched to pulseaudio by installing mate-media-pulse-1.8.0-4.mga5. Mixer provided by this package is working as expected.
Would you mind to re-install mate-settings-daemon-gstreamer and mate-media-gstreamer packages and tell us if it works this time. Probably, it was a some kind of misconfiguration in sound system or a scriptlet failed install time.
I reinstalled packages, and problem solved. Now everything is working perfectly. Therefore it was not a bug, but an error during configuration, as you assumed. Thank you so for your quick reaction and help.
