Thanks for the report, will take a look. Since thunderbird 38.1.0 the lightning extension is built directly from thunderbird source package, this might be the issue. But are you sure this only happened starting with 38.4.0 ? FWIW I'm using the latest stable, but installed as addon as that is what upstream supports. See https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/lightning/versions/?page=1#version-4.0.4.1

Sorry for the delay, took a while to get it right, and it had to be tested first in cauldron. I've just submitted thunderbird-38.5.0-1.1.mga5 to core/updates_testing, let's hope it makes it through buildsystem. It includes all upstream lightning translations. You can already test it once it hits your mirror. Will write an advisory and assign to QA for validation when build is complete.
I don't see a need to push another update right now. Definitely test this, but this fix can go out with 38.6.0.

Ok, fine for me :) FWIW, can you have a look at Source2 and Source3 if the description on updating the lightning l10n tarball is sufficient? As this needs to be done with each future thunderbird update.

Same problem with the 38.5.0-1 update of thunderbird. I had the calendar in French before, but I remember that I hit the same problem with the previous update. I have yet: thunderbird-lightning-3.3-6.mga5 thunderbird-fr-38.5.0-1.mga5 thunderbird-38.5.0-1.mga5 I can't found a method to change the language.

Can you try to remove lightning via the addon manager, then quit thunderbird, uninstall and reinstall thunderbird, then start it again? If you remove thunderbird-lightning and do the same as mentioned above, does it change?
(In reply to Florian Hubold from comment #8) > Can you try to remove lightning via the addon manager, then quit > thunderbird, uninstall and reinstall thunderbird, then start it again? that did the trick, translation is back :)

Uninstalled thunderbird, then reinstall In the profile with uninstalled lighning, I have no more Calendar. In the other profile, I have a calendar, but still in English. In Add-ons, I have Lightning 4.0.5

The description looks sufficient, but I don't think I can do an hg pull through the firewall at work, so you'll have to update this in the future.
Hello, I have yet also uninstalled Lightning 4.0.5 from the second profile, then uninstalled thunderbird, thunderbird-fr and thunderbird-enigmail installed thunderbird, thunderbird-fr and thunderbird-enigmail There is no more calendar at all ! How can I get back it? I tried to install thunderbird-lightning. It's possible, but in Add-ons I get: lightning is incompatible with thunderbird 38.5.0

Sorry cannot really reproduce. You have thunderbird-38.5.0-1.1.mga5 installed from core/updates_testing? Please show the output of rpm -qa thunderbird > How can I get back it? > > I tried to install thunderbird-lightning. It's possible, but in Add-ons I > get: > lightning is incompatible with thunderbird 38.5.0 Just tried the following: # remove all thunderbird packages urpme -a thunderbird # install normal mga5 thunderbird urpmi thunderbird-fr thunderbird-lightning thunderbird-enigmail-fr # install thunderbird from updates testing, obsoletes thunderbird-lightning urpmi --searchmedia "testing" --debug thunderbird thunderbird is still in german here, and lightning, too. Please check what you see in addon manager > languages and under extensions. You should have french language pack shown and lightning 4.0.5.

@Yves: Please also check under about:config (settings > advanced > edit configuration) what you have set for extensions.ui.locale.hidden general.useragent.locale intl.locale.matchOS
Also tested switching directly between english and german locale, thunderbird and lightning shows in both cases in the selected locale. thunderbird --uilocale en # thunderbird shows in english thunderbird --uilocale de # thunderbird shows in german, same as omitting -uilocale (as thunderbird by default uses the configured OS locale settings)
Hello FLorian, My reinstalled thunderbird was not from testing repo :/ Now all is in order :) I have the calendar, and it is in French.
Ok, closing then, once thunderbird 38.6.0 i released, it will include this change. Until then, thunderbird can be installed from updates_testing if lightning translations are wanted.
