translate-shell throws errors like this: [marja@cauldron64bit ~]$ trans nl:en brandweerkazerne [ERROR] Null response. [ERROR] Oops! Something went wrong and I can't translate it for you :( [marja@cauldron64bit ~]$ This happens on both arches in cauldron, and Akien saw it happen in Mageia 5, too. He also found an upstream bug report https://github.com/soimort/translate-shell/issues/94

Hi Marja, thanks for the report and the provided solution. The package is updated in mga 5 and Cauldron. Advisory: ======================== Updated translate-shell package makes the application again operational: This application uses Google Translate API and for this, every change of the API needs an update of the program. thx Rémi for giving the link to the upstream bug report, and thx Dimitrios for being so very fast to fix this bug. The cauldron package just hit my mirror, I tested it on my 64bit laptop and it works well :-)
