Description of problem: xdiskusage, is a lightweight, and super fast tool, that shows the size of files and folders, in a graphical manner. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Up until recently I used an rpm from 2012 (Mandriva, or generic), but it is not working any more. I just tested version 1.51 and it works. The only problem I found (in my Mageia 5, 64bit) is the "About Xdiskusage" window: it is not showing anything; not an important issue. Steps to Reproduce: To test xdiskusage, 64bit version, simply download xdiskusage.gz (http://xdiskusage.sourceforge.net/xdiskusage.gz), unpack it... make xdiskusage file executable... run xdiskusage file Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:

Please keep in mind we currently have already over 3.700 unmaintained packages ...

Well if it's easy to install it's also likely easy to maintain, so if a packager is interesting in packaging it, I don't see any reason to rebuke the user who asked for it. Of course no packager should important a new SRPM to then set the maintainer back to nobody. Also the number of 3700 unmaintained packages is overestimated as many of those packages are collectively maintained and just not properly attributed to a "group" or a packager who would accept to put his name of it even when not maintaining it alone... But it's still true that we do have many unmaintained packages.
BTW the instructions in comment 1 were "to test". It links to a pre-compiled 64-bit binary that would not work on i586 or arm, and might have some incompatibilities with our stock libraries. So going this way, should we reconsider whether *any* package that has precompiled binaries from upstream is worth packaging?..
I've had a quick look and it's pretty easy to build and lightweight, and actually not uninteresting, so I'll import it and maintain it. I'll also take the occasion to try to grab a few packages from nobody ;)

Imported in Cauldron: http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages?view=revision&revision=907383 I've grab a few unmaintained packages too: anki, cowsay, drakcowsay, dumb, mypaint. We really need to cleanup the maintdb though, there are hundreds of packages that have been obsoleted many releases ago and are clearly not available in mga5 or cauldron.

(In reply to Florian Hubold from comment #1) > If it's that easy to install why is there a need to package it? Come on, this argument doesn't hold... Firstly, the test link doesn't install anything. You just download and run it. Secondly, it just happens to work on Mageia 5 (64bit only), if the right libraries, and the right versions of these libraries, are already installed.
