Description of problem:

plasmashell crashes. only message in journal about it is

2. reboot with runlevel 3
3. startx startkde

tbh, i haven't seen a message from neoclust on dev ml in the âPlasma 5.5 Betaâ thread, that he finished updating all related packages.

i forgot to check which Plasma version was used in the Live DVDs QA is trying to test

No GUI login screen if started run level 5.

I am never sure what that means, just the desktop or all kde apps.

I am thinking the problem showed up after kdebase4-workspace and kdebase4-workspace-plasma-config updates.

If missing some other dependencies I would think those should be attached to the workspace build.

Modified /etc/X11/predm to have
        elif [ "$DISPLAYMANAGER" = "SDDM" -o "$DISPLAYMANAGER" = "sddm" -o "$DISPLAYMANAGER" = "kdm" ]; then
            dm=SDDM

modified /etc/sysconfig/desktop to have
DESKTOP=KDE4
DISPLAYMANAGER=sddm

and cat ~/.desktop
DISPLAYMANAGER=SDDM

and startx SDDM gets little blue circle like gif then IceWM runs.

we need to work to get rid of prefdm.

Problem has disappeared. No clue as to why.
