Description of problem: when attempting to add user to group vboxusers, from Mageia Control Centre => system => manage users on system => edit user => tab "groups", an error message pops up "An error occured: User could not be modified: Invalid contents of lock '/etc/shadow.lock."
cat /etc/shadow.lock returns no result

However, user is added to group "vboxusers"

How reproducible:every time


Steps to Reproduce:
1.update cauldron to latest
2.attempt to add user to any group via MCC
3.when ok button clicked and error message pops up "An error occured: User could not be modified: Invalid contents of lock '/etc/shadow.lock."
4. closing the window [ edit groups] and re-opening to edit groups shows that the previous edit was successful

Certainly because shadow-utils have been not set to default to SHA512

I confirm.  This appears to be something left over from install, because if you remove /etc/shadow.lock, it then works fine and the error does not reoccur.

still valid mga6-sta1 x86_64

following packages installed: 

userdrake-2.11-2.mga6.x86_64
lib64user1-0.62-4.mga6.x86_64.

test is:

Install Virtualbox

Invoke Mageia Control Centre.
Choose "system", Manage users on system.
choose user and "edit (selected row)."
Choose "Groups."
Add "vboxusers."

Error popup ocurs, but "vboxuser" is added.

Status: RESOLVED => REOPENED
Resolution: DUPLICATE => (none)
