k3b returns: Unable to find cdrecord executable cdrtools (which might resolve this) cannot be found.
cdrecord is provided by the cdrkit package (wodim, the cdrecord replacement).

I haven't tested this yet to verify. k3b is supposed to know that wodim is cdrecord (and the k3b package has a requires that pulls in cdrkit automatically) so it should not give this error.

k3b shouldn't have to know. Our cdrkit package uses /etc/alternatives to indirectly provide a /usr/bin/cdrecord symlink to wodim. The only question here is how he got k3b installed without cdrkit. Or, if he *has* cdrkit installed, why k3b doesn't see cdrecord.
Hi Alan, Thank you for having taken the needed time to report this issue! Did this problem get fixed? If it didn't, then we regret that we weren't able to help you. Mageia 5 has officially reached its End of Life on December 31st, 2017 https://blog.mageia.org/en/2017/11/07/mageia-5-eol-postponed/ It only continued to get important security updates since then, because we are waiting for a big Plasma5 update in Mageia 6, that'll fix many of the Mageia 5 => 6 upgrade issues. So I'm closing this report as OLD. If you still have this issue in a clean Mageia 6 install (not a 5=>6 upgrade, because, since no one else reported this, a relevant bit might have toppled over on your system), then please reopen this report and change the Version (near the top, at the left) to "6". Thanks, Marja
