Advisory (also added to svn): This update of kernel-linus provides the upstream 4.1.12 longterm kernel and fixes atleast the following security issue: Moein Ghasemzadeh discovered that the USB WhiteHEAT serial driver contained hardcoded attributes about the USB devices. An attacker could construct a fake WhiteHEAT USB device that, when inserted, causes a denial of service (system crash) (CVE-2015-5257). It also fixes various upstream bugs, for more info see the referenced changelogs: References: - https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17066 - https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v4.x/ChangeLog-4.1.9 - https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v4.x/ChangeLog-4.1.10 - https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v4.x/ChangeLog-4.1.11 - https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v4.x/ChangeLog-4.1.12

This seems to update just fine. I say to push it along.

mga5 x86_64 Mate Installed kernel-linus-4.1.12-1. Rebooted to kernel 4.1.12-1.mga5 and desktop applications appeared to be working as normal apart from the prennial problem of having to reboot several times before the mate panel would appear (only on this laptop). There is a hiatus while the system looks for the actual display. Without SLI it does not seem able to re-enable X - just a screenful of pink and white lines. With SLI the garbage screen is presented but X kicks in after a couple of seconds. This is consistent across all kernels so far. nvidia-settings indicates that the display is connected to GPU0.
