Just installed mageia from a usb drive. The installer automatically selected x86_64, which is the type of processor I have. I left everything about package selection, desktop and hardware as the installer defaulted. When I rebooted the screen was blank with a cursor, no desktop. I pressed ctrl-alt-F2 then ctrl-alt-F7 and got a desktop. I tried installing the latest Nvidia driver and running XFdrake as root, but I still have to ctrl-alt-F2 then ctrl-alt-F7 every time I reboot.
I used the mageia-dual-1.iso with LXDE as the default desktop.
Does it work with a live CD or DVD install? Dual-arch CD doesn't have many packages on it, I wouldn't advise to use it unless for specific uses.
