Does firefox-beta 42b9 works better?
(That's firefox-beta-42.0-0.b9)
Comment 4 Thierry Vignaud 2015-11-02 16:23:29 CET
Also you can try firefox 42 which I've updated yesterday
Comment 5 Davide Nifosi 2015-11-02 19:25:58 CET
Tried out firefox 42 yesterday, but had it crash once after some use. If you think it could be of use, I can get another backtrace with this version
Comment 6 Thierry Vignaud 2015-11-03 11:34:11 CET
Does it still crash if you disable layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled ?

I asked about firefox-beta as this one has cairo disabled like FC.
I think I'll disable it in main ff too.

Tried Firefox 42 updated on 11/1 and it crashed once just 5 minutes ago. I'll try disabling layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled and see if it works better.
Comment 9 Jin-tong Hu 2015-11-03 18:26:39 CET
I tried Firefox 42 in its safe mode (w/ all addons disabled) and found that every time I went to Facebook to post something, Firefox segfaulted all the time; however, using Nightly from the official Firefox site to browse Facebook did not.
Comment 10 Thierry Vignaud 2015-11-03 19:44:19 CET
Please try firefox-42.0-1.mga6 uploaded 5mn ago
Comment 11 Michael Altizer 2015-11-04 00:21:53 CET
Still crashing pretty regularly with firefox-42.0-1.mga6 (x86_64). Facebook seems to exacerbate the issue, though not in an easily reproducible fashion.

I haven't kept track of the cauldron versions, but I can say that (updating every day) I haven't seen any crashes in the past 2-3 days.

Still crashing, too. By the way, I tried launching Firefox in Konsole and found that there was some text output in Konsole when Firefox crashed. I don't know if that helps but the text as follows:

Vector smash protection is enabled.

I'll push a new one in a couple hours
Comment 15 Davide Nifosi 2015-11-05 07:46:50 CET
Chiming in just to report I haven't experienced any crashes so far with the current Firefox (will keep checking for a couple more days), and that Jin-tong Hu's issue is probably different from mine, as running Firefox from terminal would only report a segmentation fault and nothing else after a crash
Comment 16 Thierry Vignaud 2015-11-06 06:39:00 CET
firefox-42.0-2.mga6 is out since yesterday evening
Comment 17 Jin-tong Hu 2015-11-07 02:43:55 CET
With the latest Firefox, there seems to be no more segfault; at least no segfault on Facebook. Thanks.
