After testing Mageia 1 Alpha 2, I can see that these text strings are STILL in english and are not translated in french.

I tested Mageia 1 Alpha 2 with the dual arch ISO, and you are right, those points are still not translated. So, I checked this file (http://svnweb.mageia.org/soft/drakx/trunk/perl-install/share/po/) for points b) and c), and saw that those strings are translated. Is it the wrong file, or do I miss something? I'm still searching for the file(s) which contain(s) points a) and d).

I have the same problems with Mageia 1 Beta 1 DVD Installer.
@Remi, the strings are fuzzy someone from the French translation team (you're in that team, IIRC) should go through fr.po and unfuzzy them.
@Ahmad: thanks for the info, I checked the file but the strings have been unfuzzied on Transifex (our main translation tool). The Transifex po files are not commited, though. I found the occurence for point a) It was in mageia-gfxboot-theme which was recently added to Transifex : http://svnweb.mageia.org/soft/theme/mageia-gfxboot-theme/trunk/po/ There's still point d) that I didn't found, but I will eventually. I'll see with Wolfgang or Oliver so that the translated po files are commited back to the SVN before Beta 2.
I finally found the string mentioned in point d), that is "Allow interface to be controlled by Network Manager". I ran ack on the whole soft/ SVN repo at http://svnweb.mageia.org/soft/: [remi@localhost Mageia SVN]$ ack -i "allow interface" soft/drakx-net/trunk/lib/network/connection.pm 250: { text => N("Allow interface to be controlled by Network Manager"), val => \$self->{control}{nm_controlled}, type => "bool" }, The string only appears in a .pm file, so I can't translate it. I suppose it is displayed in English for every localisation. Is there a way to have it in drakx-net's .po files ?
I just installed DVD Beta 2 i586. There are still texts not translated in French. I select Europe / Français as installation language. License (point c): the last section is suprisingly in French. and the last page Féléicitations (Congratulations), the text is in English too, but the title and buttons are in French.

Anne, can you contact the good people to fix these old problems (more than 2 months) before Mageia RC1. Thanks
The "good people" to fix these problems (point (d) excepted) is the French i18n team and I. These problems were fixed when I found them (see comments 2 and 6), but only on Mageia's Transifex. We translators have only had SVN rights for a week or so, that's why the changes weren't commited and, sadly, no improvements in localisation could be done from Alpha1 to Beta2. Now we're rushing to proofread all our translations on Transifex to commit them before the translation freeze (10th of May). Eventually, this old bug should be resolved for Mageia 1 RC1.
@Rémi, >The "good people" It was my remark because I know that you have updated the french text strings but for me it was maybe a problem in a parameter file for languages or a svn export problem to update the the french text strings. Then in theses cases, the "good people" could be Mageia developpers. >We translators have only had SVN rights for a week or so, OK, I understand. I hope that it will OK for RC2 if there are problems with parameters in RC1. A little idea : is-it possible that Mageia developpers create a iso file for testing by French i18n team that all is ok now before the translation freeze (10th of May) or before freezing for RC1 release.
Point (d) should also be corrected with RC1, for Oliver Burger added this specific string to drakx-net localisation files. (In reply to comment #13) > A little idea : is-it possible that Mageia developpers create a iso file for > testing by French i18n team that all is ok now before the translation freeze > (10th of May) or before freezing for RC1 release. That's a good idea, but from what I understood the string freeze won't prevent us from correcting most translation bugs. Almost everything should be translated for RC1, and the remaining time before the final release will let us correct the mistranslations and typos.

fortune-mod description was still in french on an en-gb installation of Mageia 1. If I remember it correctly.

Points a) to d) fixed in Mageia 1 stable. @Comment 15: This bug report doesn't fit the topic of bug #170. You should open a bug report about en-gb localisation.

Ok I have done so, thankyou. It was actually a text on the dvd installer that wasn't translated though.
