clibgrab 3.5.1 don't download and convert videos to mp3 format
Install ffmpeg and try again.
(In reply to Jani Välimaa from comment #1) > Install ffmpeg and try again. I have already ffmpeg and ffmpeg presence doesn't solve the problem
This package has no registered maintainer in our database so adding some packagers in CC. Dimitrios you seem to be the de facto maintainer. Please assign to yourself and add yourself as maintainer in the database if you intend to maintain this package.

Thanks, assigning the bug report to you then.

Can you try the version 3.5.6 ? ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/Mageia/distrib/5/i586/media/core/updates_testing
Please assign to QA with an advisory if you intend for this update to be released. Otherwise, please ask the sysadmins to remove it from updates_testing. Thanks.
Version: Cauldron => 5
Advisory: ======================== Update clipgrab to version 3.5.6 to be able to resolve videos urls from various sites (youtube, dailymotion, etc). This program needs to be updated when each internet service API changes. Updated packages in core/updates_testing: ======================== clipgrab-3.5.6-1.mga5.i586.rpm clipgrab-3.5.6-1.mga5.x86_64.rpm Source RPMs: clipgrab-3.5.6-1.mga5.src.rpm

mga5 x86_64 Mate Not quite sure what the problem was here at first. Before the update $ clipgrab youtube or $ clipgrab dailymotion presented a gui for either site with a selection of clips. Downloading any of them without specifying format resulted in an mp4 file. $ clipgrab youtube # lots of elisions here - not really relevant loaded the Generic plugin loaded the grue plugin ............................... After the upgrade the mp3 option worked. If you select a clip, the gui gives format as an option with a choice of Original MPEG4 WMV OGG Theora MP3 OGG Vorbis Raw audio Select MP3 on a video and clipgrab extracts the soundtrack and stores it as an mp3 file. So yes, it works.

No, no, no. Just examining that output above I noticed "Desktop" and sure enough there it was: ~/Desktop/Voters For Trump Ad - SNL.mp3 Which raises the question, was there anything wrong with 3.5.5-1 in the first place?

Sorry, typo there; -> 3.5.1-1.
And perhaps I should have looked at the advisory more closely: "This program needs to be updated when each internet service API changes." Testing this in virtualbox for 32-bits.
i586 virtualbox $ sudo urpmi ffmpeg Package ffmpeg-2.4.13-1.mga5.tainted.i586 is already installed Installed clipgrab-3.5.6-1.mga5. $ clipgrab youtube The gui appeared. Selected "Tidal SNL" in the search tab. Under downloads selected mp3 conversion and specified directory.
