I've updgraded my computer from Mandriva 2010.2 to Mageia RC1, and then to Mageia 1 (both DVD-upgrade). Then, while the computer is booting, if I press Esc key to have more details, I can read "Bienvenue à Mageia 2" (=welcome to Mageia 2). That's funny ;)
what is the output of: rpm -qa mageia-release* ?
jiba dans ~ : rpm -qa mageia-release* mageia-release-common-2-0.1.mga2 mageia-release-Default-2-0.1.mga2 jiba dans ~ : cat /etc/product.id vendor=Mageia.Org,distribution=Mageia,type=Basic,version=Cauldron,branch=Devel,release=1,arch=i586,product=Default jiba dans ~ : cat /etc/mageia-release Mageia release 2 (Cauldron) for i586 It seems that, though I upgraded to Mageia stable 1 with the DVD, the system is still considered as being "Cauldron" and thus already in version 2 ? Is it the normal behavior or not ?
1-i586 mageia-release-common-1-2.mga1 in DVD: http://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/Mageia/iso/1/mageia-dvd-1-i586.idx "To update Mageia RC to Mageia 1 Official: Download: http://mageia.c3sl.ufpr.br/distrib/1/i586/media/core/release/mageia-release-common-1-2.mga1.i586.rpm and http://mageia.c3sl.ufpr.br/distrib/1/i586/media/core/release/mageia-release-Default-1-2.mga1.i586.rpm Then install both packages as root with: rpm -Uvh --force mageia-release*" read https://www.mageia.org/pipermail/mageia-dev/20110601/005117.html ;)
