Seems this drowned in my TODO list :( There is now bibletime-2.8.2-1.1.mga1 in core/updates_testing to validate. Suggested advisory: ------------------- This update adds the package Bibletime to Mageia repositories, and updates it to the latest version. It was not available before for Mageia, but for Mandriva. ------------------------------------------------------- Steps to reproduce: - install/update to update candidate - make sure the program starts and works correctly (that books can be downloaded and viewed) @QA: Should i open up a seperate report for validating sword framework, which is a required dependency package for bibletime? But as i don't use it i can't provide an easy way to test this on its own, that may be a problem. How to proceed? For reference, a link to the relevant wiki: http://www.crosswire.org/wiki/Main_Page

How to > proceed? > For reference, a link to the relevant wiki: > http://www.crosswire.org/wiki/Main_Page As sword is a dependency for bibletime and there's no other package that uses it for now, I think we can validate them together. If bibletime works, I guess we can consider that sword works, until someone reports a bug against it (if any). Testing on i586, I downloaded the French "Segond" Bible translation and browsed it, added a bookmark. Several problems: - bibletime had difficulties browsing the bible the first time, I chose Matthew and got to Apocalypse, then chose Judas and it freezed. After killing it and restarting it was ok, so it could be a bug for newly added books. - the list of chapters is configured to be in Afrikaans by default (so says "configure Bibletime"), it would be better to provide another default, such as English The first one is probably an upstream bug which should maybe not block this update (although investigating it would be nice), the second one would be good to fix.

Can't reproduce the first problem here. No problem with the german bibles i tried so far. Also i tried now the French "Segond" Bible which you had problems with, and browsed via mousewheel through the whole book of Matthew (and much further) the first time i has this bible opened, no issues. Noticed in the settings the list of chapters now, also. Although the names are not displayed in Afrikaans, but in english, i've got to investigate what's the problem there.

For the second problem, this is currently investigated and being worked on upstream as you can see in http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3427523&group_id=954&atid=100954 But this should not block the update from validating now as bibletime works as expected.

Has now been fixed upstream with the release of bibletime 2.8.4. Already backported that fix and tested locally with success. Would this warrant another update?

Bug confirmed with version from Upates, and confirmed fixed on i586 with the version from Updates Testing. Could someone from the sysadmin team push the srpm bibletime-2.8.2-1.2.mga1.src.rpm from Core Updates Testing to Core Updates.
