The bad news is that LightDM 1.14 EOLs in January 2016 so we'll probably have to update lightdm again in a few months.

Testing MGA5 x64 real hardware I happened to be already using lightDM, so updated what I had to: lightdm-1.14.2-1.mga5 lightdm-gtk-greeter-common-2.0.1-1.mga5 lib64lightdm-gobject1_0-1.14.2-1.mga5 lightdm-gtk3-greeter-2.0.1-1.mga5 Note no QT elements on my system (I could have installed them, but they are clearly not used); nor the 'greeter' pkgs in the update list. BTAIM I re-booted and the lightDM login screen looks & behaves just as before. Update OK. [@Jani If this is insufficient, undo the Whiteboard].
