result of "urpmi --auto-update" with kdepimlibs-core-15.07.80-4.mga6 on my mirror

(It was wrong, instead of filing a bug report which the entire KDE team could read, to only give neoclust links to failed upgrade results. So trying to do better now)

After doing a fresh Mageia 5 KDE install on July 27, I tried to upgrade to Cauldron with Plasma5, without accepting to remove KDE packages when asked. Several conflicts were solved since then, but not all-

I'll attach the output from the last time I ran
"urpmi --auto-update"

Luc went MIA, so reassigning to BugSquad.

It is maybe better to forget about upgrading for now, but to first force getting Plasma5 installed to test whether the intel workaround mentioned here
https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-distro-packagers/2015-August/000088.html
works for me?

@ neoclust

WDYT?

tonight's urpmi --auto-update

I've manually installed many packages (like most kde-l10n-??-15.04.3-2.mga6) that didn't conflict, before running this last urpmi --auto-update

assigning to neoclust, because he said on dev ml

i am trying to understand how to fix the kde-l10-sr@* conflict
Comment 5 Marja Van Waes 2015-08-07 22:14:30 CEST
maybe this helps?:

When trying to manually update
kde-l10n-it-4.14.3-1.mga5
kde-l10n-ca-4.14.3-1.mga5
kde-l10n-zh_TW-4.14.3-1.mga5
kde-l10n-ko-4.14.3-1.mga5
kde-l10n-ru-4.14.3-1.mga5
kde-l10n-tr-4.14.3-1.mga5
each of them showed a conflict like the following:

[root@localhost marja]# LC_ALL=C urpmi kde-l10n-ru

installing kde-l10n-ru-15.04.3-2.mga6.noarch.rpm from /BlueHD/mageia/distrib/cauldron/x86_64/media/core/release

I've cheated. Instead of spending lots of time manually updating whatever doesn't conflict, I decided to just

 urpme kde-l10n-ca kde-l10n-it kde-l10n-ko kde-l10n-ru kde-l10n-tr kde-l10n-zh_TW

and after that to just remove anything else that conflicts, until there were no conflicts left

I was amazed that you wrote "sr", because I thought that one was fixed, but indeed, I also had to do

 urpme kde-l10n-sr

Other urpmes I did were:

 urpme ksendemail
 urpme kdepimlibs4-core
 urpme lib64noteshared4 lib64mailcommon4 kjots lib64knotesprivate4 lib64eventviews4 lib64korganizerprivate4

I haven't rebooted into plasma5 yet (but will try with
 Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
added to my /etc/X11/xorg.config, since this is an intel on which plasma5 used to crash)

the only issue when rebooting, is that I had to do
 systemctl start dm.service

However, Plasma5 started fine without crashing :-)

kdepimlibs conflicts should be fixed
libkgeomap too.

Can you please retry ?

I tried the other way around now, by first doing

  urpme libkgeomap-common

and then

installing those packages.

However:

Installation failed:	file /usr/share/doc/HTML/ca/fundamentals/index.cache.bz2 from install of kde-l10n-handbooks-ca-15.08.0-1.mga6.noarch conflicts with file from package khelpcenter-handbook-1:5.3.2-4.mga6.noarch

file /usr/share/doc/HTML/ca/fundamentals/index.docbook from install of kde-l10n-handbooks-ca-15.08.0-1.mga6.noarch conflicts with file from package khelpcenter-handbook-1:5.3.2-4.mga6.noarch
file /usr/share/doc/HTML/ca/onlinehelp/index.docbook from install of kde-l10n-handbooks-ca-15.08.0-1.mga6.noarch conflicts with file from package khelpcenter-handbook-1:5.3.2-4.mga6.noarch
file /usr/share/doc/HTML/ca/fundamentals/tasks.docbook from install of kde-l10n-handbooks-ca-15.08.0-1.mga6.noarch conflicts with file from package khelpcenter-handbook-1:5.3.2-4.mga6.noarch
file /usr/share/doc/HTML/ca/fundamentals/ui.docbook from install of kde-l10n-handbooks-ca-15.08.0-1.mga6.noarch conflicts with file from package khelpcenter-handbook-1:5.3.2-4.mga6.noarch

with --no-recommends the six aforementioned kde-l10n-* packages installed fine.

(I didn't try the sr one)

Then trying
  urpmi libkgeomap-common

results in nothing: it no longer exists. Should something have provide it (or have obsoleted the old mga5 libkgeomap-common)?
Comment 11 Marja Van Waes 2015-08-22 14:25:01 CEST
btw, before removing libkgeomap-common, I got conflicts for some more languages while updating:

Installation failed: file /usr/share/locale/gl/LC_MESSAGES/libkgeomap.mo from install of kde-l10n-gl-15.08.0-1.mga6.noarch conflicts with file from package libkgeomap-common-1:4.8.0-1.mga5.x86_64

file /usr/share/locale/et/LC_MESSAGES/libkgeomap.mo from install of kde-l10n-et-15.08.0-1.mga6.noarch conflicts with file from package libkgeomap-common-1:4.8.0-1.mga5.x86_64
Comment 12 Marja Van Waes 2015-09-15 16:04:49 CEST
Closing as OLD for now.

If needed I'll either reopen after doing a fresh Mga5KDE4=>CauldronPlasma5 upgrade, or file a new report instead.
