I'm not sure if it's related to this issue, but this will happen when /boot/grub/device.map is missing or empty, which our tools cause to happen sometimes. I'm not sure why.

What's the output of ls -l /dev/mapper/sil* Can you attach (not paste) your /etc/fstab
Keywords: (none) => NEEDINFOSummary: drakboot -boot crashes not finding a device => drakboot -boot crashes (unknown device mapper/sil_cbahbibgbjcc1)
The user reported: [root@localhost ~]# ls -l /dev/mapper/sil* brw-rw---- 1 root disk 252, 0 août 1 14:23 /dev/mapper/sil_cbahbibgbjcc lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 août 1 14:23 /dev/mapper/sil_cbahbibgbjccp1 -> ../dm-1 And I add the fstab file.

So we've sil_cbahbibgbjcc1 vs sil_cbahbibgbjccp1 (aka "1" vs "p1") The path in /etc/fstab doesn't match the real device name Was it a fresh mga5 install or an older install (eg: mga4) later upgraded to mga5 ? Ccing Thomas as we've had issues regarding this in the past
CC: (none) => tmbSummary: drakboot -boot crashes (unknown device mapper/sil_cbahbibgbjcc1) => drakboot -boot crashes (unknown device mapper/sil_cbahbibgbjcc1) (real device is cbahbibgbjccp1)
(In reply to Thierry Vignaud from comment #6) > > Was it a fresh mga5 install or an older install (eg: mga4) later upgraded to > mga5 ? > @ papoteur *If* you can still reproduce this issue, can you please reply to that question? (replace 5 with 6 if you still have this on Mga6) Please close this bug as FIXED if it got fixed in Mga5, and as OLD if it got fixed in Mga6 :-)
