I assume that means the issue is still present.

Thanks for the information you collected :-)

Hello Marja!

To be honest, I'm not sure it is still present, there
are so many problems with displayport and the radeon
(or more precisely glamor) support in Mageia, that
missing sound is a minor issue ...

I switched to external speakers half a year ago, but
I can test it in the next few days.

You're welcome!

Best,
Herbert

Thanks, Bertl :-)

Please remove NEEDINFO from the Keywords when you give feedback about your test.

Mailing our Bugzilla has never worked, and I don't think it ever will.
When you login to Bugzilla, you see any comments that were made since the comment from the mail you just read... if someone comments while you're commenting, you'll get a warning about the change(s) and the choice to throw away your comment and any other changes you made, or overwrite the changes of the other person (except his comment), or to overwrite nothing, but just add your comment.

That would be impossible using e-mail ;-)

Comment 10 Herbert Poetzl 2016-01-04 22:11:16 CET
For sure that would be possible with e-mail as well ...

Anyway, I just tested the audio via DisplayPort and it still doesn't work.
I verified that the Monitor has Audio enabled (100%) and unmuted and the correct audio source (DisplayPort) is selected.

Best,
Herbert

Hi Bertl,

Thank you for having taken the needed time to report this issue!

Did this bug get fixed? If so, please change its status to RESOLVED - FIXED

If it didn't, then we regret that we weren't able to fix it in Mageia 5. Mageia 5 has officially reached its End of Life on December 31st, 2017 https://blog.mageia.org/en/2017/11/07/mageia-5-eol-postponed/
It only continued to get important security updates since then, because we are waiting for a big Plasma5 update in Mageia 6, that'll fix many of the Mageia 5 => 6 upgrade issues.

If you haven't seen that this bug got fixed, then please check whether this bug still exists in Mageia 6. If it does, then please change the Version (near the top, at the left) to "6". If you know it exists in Cauldron, then change Version to Cauldron. If you see it in both Cauldron and Mageia 6, then please set Version to Cauldron and add MGA6TOO on the Whiteboard.

Thanks,
Marja

If this issue is still valid: I have no idea whom to reassing this bug report to :-( (Colin is as good as completely unavailable nowadays)
Comment 12 Marja Van Waes 2018-10-07 15:37:29 CEST
No reply, so closing as OLD since Mageia 5 is no longer maintained.

Status: NEW => RESOLVED
Resolution: (none) => OLD
