As noted on IRC, I was able to fix this problem here by issuing this command as root:

sudo urpmi --auto --keep --resume --noclean --downloader wget --wget-options -c --no-recommends lib64kf5kdelibs4support-devel lib64kf5umbrella-devel

This installs the following packages here:

root@telaviv1:~$ urpmi lib64kf5kdelibs4support-devel lib64kf5umbrella-devel
To satisfy dependencies, the following packages are going to be installed:

icons = miniature pictures?

If so, then it may have gotten fixed. I see three miniatures for the three files in the tarball from comment 1

OK, I did "urpmi --no-recommends gwenview" and can see the previews for the .jpg files just fine. Resolving. Thanks!
