File /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

I have installed "Mageia-5-x86_64-DVD.iso" using DVD on my toshiba laptop "satelit L70-A-12Z" along windows 8.1 on a UEFI partitionned HDD. (Dual boot)
(This laptop has a Intel Core i7 4700M 2,4 Ghz + HDD of 1 Tera + RAM of 4000 Mo + network chipset Atheros + graphic card NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M)
The keyboard have a number area and a "mouse area". But I use a external mouse (on a usb port).
I choose "KDE" for the first installation and "Gnome" for the second one.
In the both case, when I boot I allways have a "baloo" error. But I can obtain enough informations because the "wifi network" is KO.

I think that Mageia 5 don't completly success in discovering hardware during the installation. (After the boot, the number area of the keyboard isn't locked)

During my tries of network configuration, the keyboard often blocked. And the light of uppercase flash. At this time, I must boot again.

Before the third installation I disconnect the usb mouse and I choose "KDE".
After I have no more "Baloo" error.

But network wifi is KO
And sometimes, the keyboard being blocked and the light of uppercase flash. And I must boot again.
It's arrive for example with the command "lsusb". (Probably because I have no such hardware...)

And for the wifi configuration : what files can I see ?

a file who contains the return of several commands

The source of wifi problem seems the wep_key.

I use a livebox orange. I think livebox needs a "string" for wep_key.

And the command
journalctl -ab | grep -iE "fw|firmware|iwl|wifi|80211"
returns

juil. 15 19:48:15 localhost.localdomain network[966]: Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant

Sorry for the very late reply. We are short on active BugSquad members and apart from that, every time I read this report I got confused :-/

To battle the confusion, I'm now focusing on the summary of this report:

"Problem of keyboard and wifi (Perhaps problem in hardware discovering during the installation)"

Please attach

       /root/drakx/report.bug.xz

so our developers can check whether something did indeed go wrong with hardware detection during install

Thank you for your answer.
I can not attach /root/drakx/report.bug.xz now because I have remove mageia and I have remove UEFI.
Before attach I must install mageia again.

In fact the big problem is the wep_key problem.
And it is strange.
why have I the message >>> Too long WEP key 0 '"2A5DXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX796"' <<<
why not '2A5DXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX796' or "2A5DXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX796"

In what file must I verify the format of wep key.
Can I replace '"2A5DXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX796"' by '2A5DXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX796' or "2A5DXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX796" in some files ?

Comment 5 gérard haxaire 2017-05-04 14:08:32 CEST
I have upgrade mageia from 5.0 to 5.1
After, wifi was OK.
But I boot again and wifi was KO.

So I have removed mageia 5.0
And after I put mageia 5.1 on my computer.

Now, WIFI is OK with mageia 5.1
