Description Mike Burgener 2015-07-14 07:21:53 CEST
while doing urpmi --auto-update i get in to the following dependency problem:

Um die Abhängigkeit von »netbook-kde4-config|vanilla-kde4-config|netbook-kde4-config|vanilla-kde4-config|netbook-kde4-config|vanilla-kde4-config|netbook-kde4-config|vanilla-kde4-config« zu erfüllen, wird eines der folgenden Pakete benötigt:
1- netbook-kde4-config-5-0.20150505.3.mga5.noarch: Mageia KDE configuration (zu installieren)
2- vanilla-kde4-config-5-0.20150505.3.mga5.noarch: Default configs used for upstream KDE (zu installieren)
Ihre Wahl? (1-2) 1
Wollen Sie trotzdem fortfahren? (J/n)

it does not matter what i select, everytime it results in the same while the worst method is it want's to remove nearly half of KDE because of dependency problems.

a rpm --rebuilddb has already been tried

kind regards

Mike

Hi Mike,

Do you mind trying again with

LC_ALL=C urpmi --auto-update

(the output will then be in English, which will make it possible for the assignee to read it)

Btw, you have set "Version" to "5", but you tried to install
kde-workspace-4.11.21-4.mga6.x86_64
So changing it to Cauldron

Continue installation anyway? (Y/n)
Comment 3 Mike Burgener 2015-07-14 21:35:47 CEST
ok, i think i understand where the issue comes from, i was running cauldron till release and then wanted to do a inplace upgrade to 5

so i think i have to do a urpmi.remove -a and then add the 5 package sources, right?

regards

Mike

You might already have a lot of Mageia-6-cauldron packages

you can check and scroll through them with

   rpm -qa | grep mga6 | less

If so. and if what you really want is Mageia 5, then I'd do a clean Mga5 install while keeping /home

KDE4 has been obsoleted by Plasma5 in Cauldron, so I'll assume this is now fixed.
