Description of problem: went through a lot of audio debugging only to find pulseaudio daemon was not running... several fix attempts and restarts failed to resolve the sound issue. What was confusing was that several devices in the "Audio and Video Settings - KDE Control Module" *did* produce sound when Test was clicked. What is supposed to start pulseaudio daemon at login? Or is this "solved" by deleting ~/.config/pulse/* as some search results seem to imply? Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: every reboot/login since mga5 upgrade. Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. No sound after reboot or login. pulseaudio(personal) does not start.
Hi Pierre and sorry for taking so long for triaging this bug report. Do you still experience this issue? I don't remember other people reporting that, so it might be configuration-specific. Assigning to our pulseaudio maintainer, but also CCing more packagers since we haven't heard from him in quite some time.
