Description of problem:
my stuff:
mobo: gigabyte X58A UD7  (chipset Intel X58, non UEFI)
CPU: core-i7 3960
24GB RAM DDR3
after a successfull updtae using mgaapplet, the /boot directory was fullfilled with many old mageia versions (2 and 3) initrd  (see bug #16207)
mageia5 runs very slowly,HD led is always on and ksysguard shows a permanent high CPU charge even when no application runs, in contrast to mageia4

How reproducible:make an update from mageia5 to mga5 with mgaapplet; the same holds for online update using command line
