I managed to build packages for version 0.6.0 (see enclosed RPMS) from freedesktop.org (http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/fprint/) but I've had some problems with polkit. I workarounded this by modifying as root /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/net.reactivated.fprint.device.policy : at the end of each "action id", switch "allow_any" from "no" to "yes" Then man can now enroll fingerprints in systemsettings (as normal user) in the account details section. For kdm: - run as root systemsettings, go to "Connection Screen" and choose a theme compatible with fprint (warning : default "Mageia KDE4" is not compatible, I've tried with oxygen, it works) or disable themes - modify as root kdm config file (/usr/share/config/kdm/kdmrc) : section [X-*-Greeter], set PluginsLogin=classic, fprintd (once you are sure it works, you can put fprintd before classic). At kdm login, go to Menu>Authentication method and choose "Username + fingerprint" but it didn't work for me, kdm never accepts fingerprint so I workarounded with this: - add this in /etc/pam.d/system-auth: auth include system-auth-fprintd - add this in /etc/pam.d/system-auth-fprintd: auth sufficient pam_tcb.so shadow nullok prefix=$2a$ count=8
fixed long ago, in cauldron we now have libfprint-0.6.0-3.mga6.src.rpm and fprintd-0.6.0-1.mga6.src.rpm
