is oxygen-icons-theme installed ?
That was that: the pkg oxygen-icon-theme is not installed by default when installing only LXDE. When it is installed, the problem is over.
So I guess konversation should require oxygen-icon-theme? There are maybe many others KDE applications that would require it too though?
more: it should require kdebase4-runtime that requires ( or should require ) oxygen-icons-theme
I just installed KOranizer to test, but it installed the needed packages which where missed if i only installed konversation, because after starting konversation again, it showed the missing icons.

Cleaninstall in VM After installing the package oxygen-icon-theme manually, like Nicolas wrote/suggested in Comment #3 , the icons apear.
