Description Morgan Leijström 2015-05-05 06:32:15 CEST
Now shortly after mga5RC i updated my cauldron workstation:
I had urpmi--auto-update --auto running in a KDE Konsole while working.
I switched to it and spotted it was downloading a large 1 gig file.
When i saw it was the mageiawelcome that was to be 1031M i realised it cant be OK so i pressed CtrlC.

    http://192.168.0.12/mageia/distrib/5/x86_64/media/core/release/mageiawelcome-0.8.16-1.mga5.noarch.rpm
^C 57% av 1031M klar, ETA = 0:09:01, hastighet = 838k

A short while later i run the update again and this time it displayed that it was the flightgear data that is that size.

Rechecking, my other computers got the right size of mageiawelcome, and the cached one in urpmi-proxy which all computers go thru is correct too.

Maybe writing to Konsole somehow did not work (transiently) as at least the flightgear-data should have been written out before displaying downloading progress of it.

Sidenote: Yesterday i had the whole desktop freeze ten seconds or so while swapping extensively. I found nothing in logs, and gkrellm only noticed a second of full activity spike of activity but missed logging most seconds. X reached 3 gig mem use for no apparent reason. (so I rebooted then)

By that sidenote i mean maybe urpmi was outputting correctly but the output was missed if system was briefly occupied and buffering to Konsole is not working fully OK...?

Reproducible: not yet.

Possibly not urpmi, but i dont know what...
urpmi-8.05-1.mga5.src.rpm
konsole 1:4.14.3-1.mga5
kdelibs4-core 2:4.14.5-1.mga5
x11-server-xorg 1.16.4-2.mga5

Source RPM: (none) => urpmi-8.05-1.mga5.src.rpm

It's actually a mirror problem, I've seen this before. Something gets messed up in the synchronizing and it has some RPMs with the wrong name but the right content for a different package.

Ah. FYI I use http://ftp.acc.umu.se/mirror/mageia

Is the mirror fixed now or is there any action to take?

I have not seen it since, but i do not watch much while it updates either...

If this is just a display issue i suggest we close this bug.

But if it may lead to erroneous package installs/upgrades i suggest something should be made to urpmi to correct or detect the situation automatically.

It is hard or impossible to reproduce and I doubt that there is anything that can be done on our side, so closing.
