It's more complicate. emacs-auctex is in updates_testing for the 1, and as said to leb for some weeks a bug must be assigned to the QA so it can move to updates.

Furthermore the package is just in mageia 1 *and* not in cauldron, so something is missing.

right Manuel, sorry, I mixed up with the other emacs-auctex bug ;-).
The package in update_testing should work fine though.

So what is the situation now?
The package in update_testing works well with Mageia 1 and the package in Cauldron works as well. And the versions allow a smooth upgrade.
Maybe we can move the update_testing package to updates.

Opened a tex document and clicked on things, not sure how to use this properly.

$ emacs /usr/share/emacs/23.2/etc/refcards/orgcard.tex

Highlighting seems OK and used Command > Texing Options > Generate PDF to make a pdf which opened externally.

No error messages.

TeX is a nightmare!

Testing complete on i586.
After setting the option in comment 12, found the
run viewer icon opens the generated pdf file.

Could someone from the sysadmin team push the srpm
emacs-auctex-11.86-3.mga1.src.rpm
from Core Updates Testing to Core Updates.
