Description Doug Laidlaw 2015-05-03 15:18:33 CEST
Description of problem:
Installed gkrellm on new RC distro. Main package is 64-bit. gkrellm-plugins for 64-bit gives "Sorry, can't be selected." 32-bit package will install, but doesn't work on 64-bit main package.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
x86_64-2.3.5-13.mga5

rpm -qa gives:

rpm -qa | grep gkrellm
gkrellm-plugins-2.3.5-13.mga5
gkrellm-2.3.5-11.mga5
gkrellm-plugins-stock-2.3.5-13.mga5

I read that as saying that all packages are i586. They aren't.

gkrellm and gkrellm-plugins-stock are x86-64 according to rpmdrake.
gkrellm-plugins for x86-64 shows as a needed download (blue button) but refuses to install.

Workaround: Installed 32-bit RPMs of everything.
Comment 3 Daniel Napora 2015-05-04 11:53:08 CEST
Can't reproduce.
Mageia 5RC 64-bit. gkrellm and gkrellm-themes 64-bit installs and works fine here.

It isn't gkrellm-themes that is the problem. I don't have it installed.

It is gkrellm-plugins.
Comment 5 Jani Välimaa 2015-05-04 15:07:06 CEST
Can't reproduce. Installed x86_64 gkrellm-plugins which pulled gkrellm and all other deps correctly.

Comment 6 Doug Laidlaw 2015-05-04 15:33:56 CEST
Same here this time. All deps except gkrellm itself were already installed.

Added gkrellm-plugins-stock with no problems.

No idea why it wouldn't work the first time. "Sorry that package can't be installed" isn't very helpful.

Closed as invalid.

You can always try to install with urpmi to get more informative output.
