Description Tony Blackwell 2015-05-03 03:56:26 CEST
Description of problem:

Loaded x86_64 RC9 onto ASUS UX301 dualSSD RAID0 UEFI laptop. Booted OK, configured wifi, downloaded the recent stuff since RC9, and now after a 2nd reboot it can't see any wifi stations. Wifi is still up and working for other hardware. I've a yellow icon on my xfce4 screen saying 'You do not have any configured internet connection' etc. Not so - I'd configured and used it via wifi before the update. Built-in hardware is Intel Wireless 7260.

Replying to myself: not so simple. The kernel versions report themselves as the same.

I've been trying to make sense of this, and getting more confused by the moment. After some 20+ reboots, I've 'seen' wifi stations 3 times - blank all the other times. Hardware issue??

Awaiting a replacement wifi chip in this still-new laptop; had just replaced power-supply for hint of high-voltage leak to chassis :-( Maybe hardware issue from this??

Problem seems resolved with replacement wifi card in this near-new laptop.
Closing bug - Thankyou all (for discussion in QA if not here).
