In the "PLEASE CHOOSE A LANGUAGE TO USE" panel The mouse freezes as soon as one wants to choose the installation language (not down to French for example). This problem already existed on Mageia 4. I had to install the Mageia 3, upgrade it, and make a migration to Mageia 4 by network. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:

Is this with classical isos or live isos ? Please try both alternatives... Do you have the latest bios installed ? Does the rest of the computer work when mouse freezes ? Can you switch to a console with "Control Alt F2" and see if you get any errors... ?
We would also need you to attach (not paste) output of "lspcidrak -v"

If possible, I suggest trying another mouse, preferably a wired one USB and PS/2 (who knows whether interrupt conflicts might be at play here...). BTW, my Sempron computer has an ASUS motherboard and I use a Geforce 6200 with Nouveau. Everything works. In certain BIOSes there's a setting called "USB Legacy mode": I found USB external HDs won't work when it's on... might be worth changing.
