Hi Claire, Till now i had not but i just installed it and will try rebooting the sys and report back. Ashvin
Hi Claire, Installed the 64 bit version of numlock and restarted the sys. On the login screen numlock was ON this time so i guess your advise did work like magic. I feel this issue now stands resolved as of now. Thanks a lot once again:) Ashvin
Should this be added to ldetect.lst Thomas?
An Errata entry advising to install the numlock package could be nice.

(In reply to claire robinson from comment #7) > Should this be added to ldetect.lst Thomas? No reply, but I can't think of anything else. Assigning to kernel group (assuming ldetect counts as kernel package). @ Jude Please tell us if this bug is no longer valid with Mageia6sta1 or later.

AFAIK numlock is still not installed by default (and when it is installed, it's broken, see bug 18027), but it's not clear that it should be, so closing this issue as OLD.
