Description of problem: I upgraded my working server from Mga4 to Cauldron today, feeling quite confident having done many VM upgrades recently :\ It runs xfce DE (iirc) just in case I need a GUI, but is only ever used as http, zoneminder and ssh servers. After upgrade and re-boot - dead, no ssh nothing. Attached a monitor and still no wiser as screen was frozen shortly after messages related to nouveau, "RIP ...nouveau" seemed very relevant ;) I tried various kernel options, then 'failsafe' and ultimately added "3" to the failsafe line and it booted with all working as it was in Mga4. Maybe it would have booted in normal mode with just "3" added - but I'm not trying it again today as it's very uncomfortable in the loft, and it's running. I will attach anything I can find that looks useful. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 6274 [details] dmesg now after sucessful boot Note that the 16 bttv devices are video capture card devices used by zoneminder, and these are working OK.
Created attachment 6285 [details] Full output of urpmi for upgrade I forgot that I had taken the precaution of piping the urpmi output to file, so here it is.

Uh oh no one had a look at this one apparently. Could it be a duplicate of bug #15670?
Adding tmb and QA in CC, maybe you can have a look and tell if it's an old bug, a duplicate, or a real bug that we need to put in Errata or worse, fix before we release mageia 5.
