lsmod on LiveDVD with working graphics

Attached output from "lsmod | nl" from the LiveDVD install where Poulsbo graphics is working

Please attach your /root/drakx/report.bug.xz after completing the classic install.
What is exactly wrong? Missing installed package? Wrong /etc/X11/xorg.conf?

Comment 3 Paul Blackburn 2015-04-13 13:48:14 CEST
@Thierry I have been attempting this morning after re-installing to run the "bug" command from a ctrl-alt-f2 shell. I am not having any success with this yet. (see #mageia-qa chat).

"What exactly is wrong?"

When I install from Classical iso, the graphical interface is not correctly configured (see: http://imgur.com/gallery/nZB4N1z/ ).

By contrast, when I install from LiveDVD, the graphical interface is correctly configured and the systems runs as expected.

The LiveDVD install which works on this machine (Acer Aspire One netbook) is: Mageia-5-RC-LiveDVD-KDE4-i586-DVD (with DATE.txt "Fri Apr 10 09:00:00 CEST 2015").

So, it appears that something is missing from the Classical installer for correctly configuring graphics on this machine.
Comment 4 Thierry Vignaud 2015-04-13 14:30:08 CEST
From what I see, only testing doesn't work, probably b/c we don't include the poulsbo kernel driver in installer.
That's different from a broken config

report.bug in "2015_04_13_report_bug.tgz" from "bug" command after ctrl-alt-f2 on classical install

report.bug inside attachment "2015_04_13_report_bug.tgz" from "bug" command after ctrl-alt-f2 on classical install near the end of the install process after seeing that graphics UI test failed
Comment 6 Paul Blackburn 2015-04-13 15:33:52 CEST
@Thierry Yes, I think you are correct - the kernel driver is missing in the Classical installer for this graphics device: Intel Poulsbo.

I checked from the ctrl-alt-f2 shell from the Classical installer and see the following:

bash-4.3# lsmod | grep gma500
bash-4.3#

This is in contrast to the LiveDVD:

$ lsmod | grep gma500   # on LiveDVD install
gma500_gfx 216437 2
video 19594 2 acer_wmi,gma500_gfx
i2c_algo_bit 13190 1 gma500_gfx
drm_kms_helper 100414 1 gma500_gfx
drm 270553 4 drm_kms_helper,gma500_gfx
