Description Marja Van Waes 2015-04-06 10:15:05 CEST
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #15370 +++

+++ Which was initially created as a clone of Bug #10237 +++

Cloning, because those reports were originally only about a solved Search Button issue, for which updating the manuals was needed. Now there are more reasons for an update:

* There are some instructions in the manuals that were improved
* copyright and license are now in the footer of each page
* there is a good chance more languages have a high enough percentage of translated strings for their translations of one or both of our manuals to be used. (@ filip can you please check which manual(s) for which languages?

Note that a script needs to be added with a line for the translated installer manuals to replace any "cco:/" in the html files into the path to the directory where the English installer screenshots can be found, and a similar line for the MCC manuals.

Please do update the Mageia 4 manuals (including the English one)

Or say so if for some reason that can't be done soon.

Note that atm, docteam does not have a Mageia 5 version of the documentation. For Mageia 5 the current version must be used, until, after release, we know how all EFI fixes etc. worked out and we can update the documentation for Mageia 5.

There are no significant discrepancies between Tx and our git at the moment when I'm writing this:

http://www.mageia.org/langs/report_tx_git.php?c=Documentation

The discrepancies in the stats are due to some quirks in the scripts.

Besides doc entry page(s) this is currently beyond me. Hopefully Claire can help.

I was thinking about adding pdf and epub files before mga5 release but I can't give any deadlines tough :(.

Besides differences the script will also point any translation over threshold (currently set to 90%) in TX but not yet present in our git.

If you like to check manually:
https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/mageia/resource/mcc-help/
https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/mageia/resource/doc_installer/

@Yuri
Thanks for using the script!

No problem.... many translations will have few or many missing screenshots, which, for the pdf and epub publications, can't be workarounded (correction: I _assumed_ it can't be workarounded, but never really checked) with a simple fix like can be done for the html help pages.

Thanks Yuri and Filip

It is no longer possible to check those transifex links, unless you have a tx account and are logged in. Filip's script keeps returning "There seems to be some errors during processing this time :(", probably because I'm not logged in. Sorry for my extreme dislike of Tx.

None of these error is connected with your account if you have it or not ;). I'm guessing that they have a short timeout if server is busy that moment. Just retry.

I'm not exactly a fan either but it helps with quantity of translations and it has some cool features.
Comment 5 Marja Van Waes 2015-04-06 14:24:23 CEST
Thanks, Filip, it no longer gives an error.
