Created attachment 6170 [details] No notifications; translation in the comments. This is part A of bug 15595 , filed separately as asked (there). Xfce complains it cannot start its own notification because there's another active (this seems the same as bug 12480). Steps: 1. Get Mageia 5 with Xfce and KDE installed. 2. Install Mate. 3. Read error dialog at Xfce start. This bug might be a duplicate of bug 12480 . As was pointed in https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15595#c2 , there's a solution (which seems to be a solution for distribution developers, not for end users). I'm posting this bug because it may be a regression; it _is_ happening (added pic for proof). Nevertheless, once it is put on record here, someone better qualified than me can indeed close it as duplicate, should that be the right course of action. Translation of error dialog in attached pic follows... ================================================ Dialog title: Xfce notification service Message content: It was not possible to initiate the service of notifications Another notification xndaemon is already under execution [ Leave ] ================================================ Thanks for keeping Mageia as one of the best Linuxes there is.
