Does this still happen in recent Mageia 5? For the record, chromium-browser runs fine here.

it works using vesa driver. Seems a Xorg related to intel or the fact that this is a there is 2 cards one nvidia, one intel

But can you reproduce the problem with the offending setup? Also , is your kernel tainted due to the proprietary nvidia driver?
