drakconf appears in the menu labeled with "Configure your computer" and the comment "Configure your computer". It should better be labeled with "Mageia Control Center" with the comment "Configure your computer".
Is this a new installation from mga-1 install media? This was fixed in https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=783

This is not resolved and should also be referred to i18n team, as there are obvious inconsistencies. The decision was made to use the name: "Mageia Control Center" and to have the comment: "Configure your Computer" This is not the case in English as per the bug subject. I would suggest that: 1. Engish *Comment=* should be changed to "Configure your Computer". 2. This then be passed to i18n team for correct translations. At present the [fr] [es] and [ro] Names are wrong among possible others. Also the English, [de] [et] [nl] [pt] [uk] Comments seem to be wrong. See https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=783#c3

Indeed :/ , thanks Barry. To the i18n: http://svnweb.mageia.org/soft/control-center/trunk/po/$yourlang.po?view=markup 1923 #: ../drakconf.desktop.in.h:1 1924 msgid "Mageia Control Center" 1925 msgstr ""

This has to be rsolved in the code first. i18n can then react.

(In reply to comment #8) > I will go at bed... Thinking about this - I'm not sure that it is the comment string that is in error. Assuming that we want the mouse-over popup to show "Mageia Control Center" with "Configure your Computer" below it, then it seems that it is the "Name" and "Description" fields that are involved. I'm not sure where the "Comment" string is used. Here is a version of mageia-drakconf.desktop (only en-GB) which appears to achieve the correct result :- [Desktop Entry] Comment[en_GB]=Mageia Control Center Comment=Mageia Control Center Description[en_GB]=Configure your Computer Description=Configure your Computer Exec=/usr/sbin/drakconf GenericName[en_GB]=Configure Your Computer GenericName=Configure Your Computer Icon=/usr/share/icons/drakconf.png MimeType= Name[en_GB]=Mageia Control Center Name=Mageia Control Center Path= StartupNotify=false Terminal=false TerminalOptions= Type=Application X-DBUS-ServiceName= X-DBUS-StartupType= X-KDE-SubstituteUID=false X-KDE-Username=

AFAICT this is fixed in Cauldron. Mouseover the drakconf icon now shows:- MCC Mageia Control Centre It's even got "Centre" spelling correct for en-GB, nice! Thanks Oliver :)

This message is a reminder that Mageia 1 is nearing its end of life. In approximately 25 days from now, Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 1. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '1'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 1's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Mageia 1 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. -- Mageia Bugsquad

As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia and reopen this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. -- Mageia Bugsquad
