Does this still happen in Mageia 5 i586 32-bit? I marked it as NEEDINFO.

(In reply to Shlomi Fish from comment #2) > Does this still happen in Mageia 5 i586 32-bit? I marked it as NEEDINFO. Yes, exactly the same as outlined in comment 1. Why would anyone need more info? Simply open a terminal as a user, type in: k9copy --assistant and attempt to rip a DVD. You'll get the above results. Works just fine in M4.1.
Thanks for confirming! I updated this bug. (In reply to William Kenney from comment #3) > (In reply to Shlomi Fish from comment #2) > > > Does this still happen in Mageia 5 i586 32-bit? What do you need beyond what was outlined in comment 1?
(In reply to William Kenney from comment #5) > What do you need beyond what was outlined in comment 1? I needed to confirm it was still present on the latest Mageia 5 . Now we could also use patches and/or workarounds to this problem.
I have now retested k9copy on both my i586 desktop @ x86_64 laptop and both M5 platforms fail the same way. See comment #1 above.

It was never fixed for M5. It is a confirmed bug and it is very easy to reproduce. Please would someone look at this well documented bug. Thanks
On real hardware, M5, KDE, 64-bit I'm having some success with k9copy on M6 ( cauldron ). It does not seg fault and I've been able to RIP a couple of my own DVD's that k9copy could not on M5. Any thoughts as to why M6 is a better platform for this?
