Description of problem: Laptop Acer 2509 hangs while try to reboot, poweroff; randomly hangs while booting. How reproducible: Install Mageia Cauldron on Acer 2509. Way to fix the problem: I found the same problem with Dell Inspiron 11-3147, described in: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1341925 This issue seems to be caused by a buggy driver for the Synopsys Designware I2C DMA controller. Need to blacklist the dw_dmac and dw_dmac_core kernel modules in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-mga.conf After blacklisting modules all works fine. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 5947 [details] hwinfo output
Created attachment 5948 [details] Hwinfo full output (with enabled dw_dmac module)

Thomas, can you comment? In any case looks like a candidate for Errata (and maybe an update later)
