Interesting, it is included in Mageia-5-beta2-i586-DVD.iso but not in Mageia-5-beta2-dual-DVD.iso

According to rpmsrate, tk will be installed if either the Development (because of tkinter) or Publishing (because of scribus) categories are selected during installation. tcl will be installed on all systems because of comgt. Neither tcl nor tk are explicitly listed in rpmsrate, they're only pulled in as dependencies.

While tcl and tk are often used together and have the same upstream, tcl does not need tk to work, so they don't need to be installed together. If someone wants to write or run a tk program, they can install it if it's not already installed.

As far as tk not being on the dual, the dual is extremely space-limited, so a lot of things get left out.

Resolution: (none) => INVALID

Point taken. I have only ever thought of them as essential packages not as dependencies - my mistake. Will add them to my list of packages needed after install.
