Description of problem:at first boot select online media. check for updates. from the list un-select a number of update packages. apply updates. MCC will install some of the update packages that were not selected. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia-5-beta3-x86_64-DVD.iso, Thu Feb 5 23:36:04 CET 2015 How reproducible:every new install Steps to Reproduce: 1. fresh / clean install from media: Mageia-5-beta3-x86_64-DVD.iso, Thu Feb 5 23:36:04 CET 2015 of desktops : KDE and Cinnamon and XFCE are affected 2. select online media: core, non-free and tainted. 3. check for updates. 4. de-select a number of packages offered for update. make a note of them. 5. apply updates cycle 6. note that some of the updates packages not selected in step 4 have been installed and are missing from list of packages now listed as available to install. also evident in Mageia-5-beta3-i586-DVD.iso, Thu Feb 5 23:44:06 CET 2015, Cinnamon desktop normally, after pressing the update button, there is a popup that advises which updates are selected, the number of packages, etc.., In this case, it shows that the unselected packages will be installed. If no updates are selected, popup advises to select some - this is correct The updater appears to allow cdrdao to be selected or not, and will not install if selected not to install.

rpmdrake recomputes updates when clicking "apply" so if some selected updates need unselected ones, they'll got installed anyway

Can you abort updates next time you see this then run the following commands: urpmi --bug bug15233 --auto-select tar cfa bug15233{.tar.xz,} Then send the bug15233.tar.xz tarball to me by email (it will be too big for bugzilla) so that I can have a look at the issue
