Description Barry Jackson 2015-02-02 01:56:35 CET
Description of problem:
I updated a laptop which has been running cauldron for several weeks and was previously updated at each release from an original Mga1 install.
The root filesystem is ext3.
Boot fails when dracut attempts to mount the root filesystem to check it with: unknown filesystem type ext3

I can boot 3.18.1-desktop-2.mga5 OK

Does the 3.19 release candidate kernel in core/updates_testing work?

Yes - I used 3.19.0-rc7

However now the Wireless Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG does not find any networks.
Comment 3 Barry Jackson 2015-02-03 00:33:23 CET
OK by booting a much earlier kernel I managed to reconfigure the wireless and get it working again. It now works in 3.19.0-rc7 as well.

@tmb
During all this I found another minor bug. When the wireless network setup fails with a missing driver (I tried a dongle) the error message says that a driver *can* be found in the Mageia nonfree repositories (or words to that effect) when it should say *can not*. If this needs a separate report let me know.

Closing as fixed in later kernels.
