We have pidgin-libnotify in the repository. Does this one do anything pidgin-libnotify doesn't?

And under KDE4 now most GTK apps use the plasma notifications (this has been the case since KDE 4.4 or 4.5 IIRC).

Easiest way is to try it yourself, install pidgin-libnotify and see if you get plasma notifications or not :)

P.S. don't forget to enable the plugin in pidgin -> Tools -> Plugins.

but can this plugin used by in the other environments like XFCE / Gnome-Shell
Comment 7 Oliver Burger 2011-06-01 01:32:03 CEST
It's working in KDE and LXDE, so I think it should work in any of the bigger environments. Please try it.

pidgin-libnotify works for me in KDE, seeing the age of this bug report, i suggest closing this one...
