Can't reproduce. Which gtk theme are you using with engrampa as it looks kind of broken? And which icon theme?

Jani, thank you for your interest.

Additional info:
MATE: OK
LXDE: OK
KDE: not OK (all settings are by default)

Jani, will you reproduce in KDE?

I don't have/use KDE.

Make sure you have both oxygen-gtk and oxygen-gtk3 installed. Check also your theme related settings.

I also can not confirm on MATE. Alex, do you have adwaita-icon-theme and mate-icon-theme is installed?
Comment 6 Alex Loginov 2015-01-06 20:48:23 CET
It because of nothing requires oxygen-gtk pkg, that's why I see this issue in KDE.
Comment 7 Atilla ÖNTAŞ 2015-02-11 09:53:56 CET
Alex, do you have adwaita-icon-theme and mate-icon-theme installed on KDE? Is this issue fixed with these theme packages (without oxygen-gtk(3) installed)?
Comment 8 Alex Loginov 2015-02-11 10:36:35 CET
I have installed:
adwaita-icon-theme-3.14.1-1.mga5
mate-icon-theme-1.8.0-3.mga5
But oxygen-gtk is needed also.
Comment 9 Atilla ÖNTAŞ 2015-02-12 14:00:58 CET
Thanks Alex, is this an issue for other gtk2 applications on KDE? My thought is that not forcing users to install oxygen-gtk along with engrampa or other MATE components. As you may know there is a discussion for oxygen-gtk(3) to not use it by default.

The same issue for clamtk: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14505

That's what i thought. I think it is not an engrampa problem but KDE problem. Oxygen-gtk should be required by kde for gtk2 applications not by engrampa itself. Reassigning to bug team.

No, not really. Since oxygen-gtk is all about getting unified look and feel for gtk apps mainly on KDE; then why we should not do it so? We do not need oxygen look and feel on gtk based desktop. Do we? But i'm not sure it can be used for KF5 since i'm not a kde/kf5 user.

What do you think about my proposal? Obviously, i think that a gtk+ desktop doesn' t need oxygen-gtk to properly run and i don't want Mate apps pull needless oxygen-gtk.

But why doesn't engrampa use adwaita-icon-theme when it's available?

Assigning to all packagers collectively, because the engrampa maintainer is currently unavailable.

Is this still valid with Mate 1.16.0 ?
