Hi André Please attach /root/drakx/report.bug.xz You can safely always attach that file when something went wrong with a traditional install ;-)

just checked, kdm and task-kde are on the iso, or at least in Mageia-5-beta2-x86_64-DVD.idx (didn't check for all dependencies, though)
Created attachment 5711 [details] report.bug.xz As asked
just looking at kdm, I see it first got selected and then unselected. * no packages match phonon (it is either in skip.list or already rejected) * unselecting phonon-vlc-0.8.1-1.mga5.x86_64 * unselecting lib64kdecore5-4.14.3-1.mga5.x86_64 * unselecting keditbookmarks-4.14.3-1.mga5.x86_64 * unselecting plasma-applet-weatherstation-4.14.3-1.mga5.x86_64 * unselecting lib64kworkspace4-4.11.14-3.mga5.x86_64 ....... and unselecting many more, including kdm and task-kde-minimal didn't check whether there was more missing than just phonon (time to cook dinner now)

Same here: when selecting *all* graphical environments, I reboot and do not have the option to use KDE, and the gdm is used instead of kdm
Same issue with DVD 32 default kde installation. After installation first boot starts XDM and logs into IceWM.

Seems only gtk applications are left installed
certainly offtopic, but was is it not planned to use sddm as default ?

"* adding a reason to already rejected package phonon-vlc-0.8.1-1.mga5.x86_64: unsatisfied phonon" I guess that phonon-4.8.2-1.mga5 is missing on Mageia-5-beta2 DVD. @Anne, please could you add phonon-vlc to input_cat, and kactivitymanagerd too (it could have the same pb). IIRC, bcd doesn't handle properly requires with alternatives (here phonon-backend); it doesn't pull all the dependencies for the preferred package (from prefer.vendor.list, here phonon-vlc). btw, relatively to kactivitymanagerd, you can blacklist kactivities-framework (Plasma 5 alternative to kactivitymanagerd, and we don't put Plasma 5 on DVD).
Well that's strange as it was working properly until last update of phonon. No pb during beta 1 release. Anyway both packages added in list and kactivitymanagerd excluded. Changes will be available for next set of isos
(In reply to Anne Nicolas from comment #11) > Well that's strange as it was working properly until last update of phonon. > No pb during beta 1 release. I slightly modified phonon packaging in last update of phonon to fix packaging bugs. Previously, all the phonon-vlc dependencies were pull through other packages. Now, phonon (new sub-package) is only required by phonon backends (phonon-vlc preferred), and bcd fails to pull this new dependency. > > Anyway both packages added in list and kactivitymanagerd excluded. kactivities-framework should be excluded, not kactivitymanagerd. kactivitymanagerd is the one that we need to have on Mageia 5 DVD !!!
ineed wrong copy past of the name in Bugzilla. Sorry I promise I will not break KDE :)
