I installed task-lxqt-minimal-0.8.0-3.mga5, restarted the X server (also tried to restart my machine), selected lxqt from the login menu, entered my credentials and clicked Log In. The X server immediately crashes and the login menu is displayed again. No way to log in using lxqt and restarting my machine didn't help. I don't know where to look at to know what fails.
Anaselli reported on #mageia-dev yesterday that lxqt wouldn't start. It might be related to new qt. If possible, save the output from "journalctl -b" (as root) when it crashes, and attach that. If you have to reboot to get to a working text tty, then attach the output (as root) from the following command, but change the times to the correct ones for starting to boot and for restarting after the crash journalctl -a --since="2014-12-31 20:00:00" --until="2014-12-31 20:05:00" If available, the /var/log/Xorg.*.log* of the time of the crash, would be good to have, too
