Description Kristoffer Grundström 2011-05-28 23:15:47 CEST
Running amsn manually from menu with 2.6.38.7-desktop-1.mga as kernel & after a while the panel-applet of amsn disappears, but no crash & the program doesn't logout. I can try building a new version from source if needed.

"Doesn't logout" as in it's still running and you can use it to chat online?

Oooops. Double-post.
Comment 8 Jani Välimaa 2011-05-29 09:55:37 CEST
And this "crash" happens every time you run aMSN?
Comment 9 Kristoffer Grundström 2011-06-07 13:09:34 CEST
I even tried a fresh installation & as I choose to minimize it to the panel aMSN seemed to disappear.
Comment 10 Kristoffer Grundström 2011-06-07 13:10:23 CEST
Doing ps aux | grep amsn confirms that it's still running.

I installed debug-package to run it with gdb.

This confirms that it is the same version:

[root@localhost ~]# urpmi amsn-debug

    $MIRRORLIST: media/debug/core/release/amsn-debug-0.98.4-3.mga1.x86_64.rpm
installing amsn-debug-0.98.4-3.mga1.x86_64.rpm from /var/cache/urpmi/rpms
Förbereder... #############################################
      1/1: amsn-debug #############################################
[root@localhost ~]# rpm -qa amsn
amsn-0.98.4-3.mga1
Comment 13 Kristoffer Grundström 2011-06-07 13:22:49 CEST
gdb amsn

handle SIGPIPE noprint nostop nopass isn't working for amsn.

Even tried gdb /usr/share/amsn or gdb /usr/bin/amsn

What can I try next?
Comment 14 Kristoffer Grundström 2011-06-07 13:24:34 CEST
This time, when running it from Terminal/Console it isn't disappearing.

Weird behavior if you ask me.
Comment 15 Kristoffer Grundström 2011-06-07 13:25:37 CEST
I even took a look on the setting to minimize in aMSN & it's gui & the box is checked.
