Description of problem: If you install another Linux system on your computer, somme of them, like Debian format everytime swap partition. Unfortunately Mageia dracut does not boot if the uuid of swap partiton has changed Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Every versions How reproducible: Format swap or change UUID Steps to Reproduce: 1.Modify UUID of swap partition by fromating it or simply change it 2.reboot 3.Does'nt and let you with dracut 4.You need to boot on another system (live or installed), chroot Mageia, and then modify UUID reference un /etc/dracut.conf.d/mageia.resume.conf /etc/fstab and /boot/grub/menu.lst You can note that others distributions can boot even if the UUID has been changed. Additionally linux can boot without sawp partition especially today the amount of memory on computers. Two things are stupid with this comportement: 1. The fact that the Debian family distribution does not let user refuse to format the swap. 2. The fact that Mageia can not boot whithout swap partition I suggest let Mageia booting if swap is not present or has changed. It will more usefull for users that are not geeks ! I suggest too, ask to debian developpers to let user choice if they want to format swap or not. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
