Description of problem: I like to be able to resize maximized windows, but when I went to set the effect in Mageia, it appeared to have been removed. However, it turns out that the text for that option is now simply incorrect--the option I want is actually still in the same place in the System Settings menus as under Mandriva 2010.2. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): RC with all updates applied How reproducible: constant Steps to Reproduce: 1.System Settings > Window Behavior > Window Behavior > Moving 2.Under Windows group, the fourth option now says; Display borders on maximized windows However, what it is supposed to say is: Allow moving and resizing of maximized windows Despite the text, the button is actually still changing kwinrc to include/not the option: MoveResizeMaximizedWindows=true
You need to report upstream here & past the bug report here so we can fix our package if a patch is available.

Quoting myself from the forum https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=300: Upstream changed it that way, so if you think this is wrong, file a bug report upstream at https://bugs.kde.org (my guess is it'll be closed as invalid or wontfix). Another guess is that they probably changed it so that it's not confused with systemsettings -> Workspace Appearance -> Screen Edges -> Window Management -> "Maximize windows by dragging them to the top of the screen".
OK--will file upstream. If they changed it to this on purpose then they probably won't fix it (if the person who changed it actually understood what the option was doing), but as written now, it is completely misleading (setting it on or off makes no change at all in the appearance of maximized windows, and most certainly does not cause a border to appear). Of course this would hardly be the first instance of incorrect/misleading English text in KDE.
Don't forgot to past here the bug number, please.

John, since the report seems to be drowning upstream, can we (read: you or one of the other KDE folks) provide a patch for this to upstream?
Well it's not that easy because that would also mean to check & patch several kde translations if this line was previously translated...
Ok closing as wontfix as upstream cf https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=273646#c2 The change was in fact done on purpose.
