Description of problem: Installing task-plasma5-minimal does not give functional plasma5 desktop Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):5.0.1-4.mga5 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make a Mageia 5 alpha 2 or Cauldron network minimal install with X 2. Install task-plasma5-minimal 3. Try to start Plasma desktop from display manager 4. The result is black screen with mouse cursor However, if you look at Mageia 5 errata: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_5_Errata#KDE , then there is an urpmi command to install a Plasma5 desktop. Running that command indeed gives working Plasma5 desktop. Packages in that selection, that are not as dependencies in task-plasma5-minimal are: dbus-x11 plasma-workspace-wallpapers xinit xauth socat So I guess these packages should be added as a dependencies to task-plasma5-minimal. Also I'd suggest to add there: kio-extras (without that you do not see wallpaper previews when you right-click to the desktop and select Desktop settings) plasma5-konsole powerdevil PS Any chance, that we get Plasma 5.1 into Cauldron before Mageia 5? As of level Mageia 5 beta1 - only package that seems to be missing now is dbus-x11. Installed that in addition to task-plasma5-minimal and got the Plasma5 desktop up und running after minimal install with X. And also kio-extras and plasma5-konsole are needed to get the inital functionality...

Made a minimal install with X using boot.iso dated December 22th and installed task-plasma5-minimal afterwards. The situation is unchanged - dbus-x11 package is still missing to get Plasma 5 desktop up and running.
task-plasma5-minimal now requires dbus-x11.
